7 tips for talking to your friends about Jesus  

1.      Talk less, listen more.

 

Everyone loves talking, so why don’t you give your mates a go? Get their opinions, their thoughts, or any questions that they have.

2.      Start with a question.

Hey, what are you doing this Friday? Hey ____, have you ever been to church before? Did you know that Maccas tastes better when you eat it at Church (maybe)?

3.      Make sure you have a back-up plan.

Friend can’t make it to Church on Fridays? What about Sundays? Or can you read the bible with them 1 on 1?

4.      Be prepared to tell them WHY you want them to come to church/know Jesus.

Many non-Christians don’t see why Jesus is important to them. Have a think about what the gospel means in your life and be ready to share that!

5.      Keep trying.

A friend may not be willing to chat this week, maybe not even this month, but people do change so if you’ve asked before, don’t be afraid to ask again!

6.      Speak through your actions, as well as with your words.

Sometimes it takes us showing that we love Jesus and love people to get our point across. Remember, “you are the only ‘Jesus’ some people will ever meet”.

God wants people to know him and love him too. If God is on your side, what is there to be scared of? Remember to always ask God to help you talk to your friends about Him.
